As we get closer to the end of the Church year, the Scriptures speak to us about the end time. We are told in the Gospel that during the time of Jesus people were getting distracted by the beauty of the temple.

Jesus reminds them about the fragility of the temple and that all things are temporal. I can’t help but think about how I get caught up in the passing things of the world. I get caught up in the latest football game or sports story. I get caught up in the news of the day or in the different situations I face every day.

We all are reminded of the fragility of life and that all things will come to an end. Let us take some time this week to reflect upon the shortness of life and upon what really endures, the great love of Almighty
God.
