In March there was a meeting of the Holy Name Society with a focus on the direction and viability of continuing the Society. Active participation had declined over the years and was at its lowest point when meetings resumed following the COVID pandemic, which led to a suspension of activities. A Bulletin announcement ran for several weeks prior to the meeting stating that the future of the Society was dependent on increasing active participation of the men of the Parish, and an appeal was made to encourage attendance as we determined our path. Unfortunately, the meeting was unsuccessful in attracting new members. Given the Bulletin announcements run prior to the meeting, and that they did not generate sufficient interest, a decision was made to cease existence and operations and disburse all funds. The Society awarded Dwyer scholarships for the final time, transferred dues collected for the past two years to the St. Therese Society, with the remaining balance allotted to the purchase of needed church office equipment. We appreciate your understanding and past support of Holy Name Society activities.
