In our First Reading this weekend from the Book of Numbers, Moses speaks of His dream for the People of Israel. He wishes that all the People of Israel were prophets. The dream of Moses has become a reality for us as a Catholic People as we all are called to be a prophetic People. At baptism all of us are anointed with Sacred Chrism. We all are anointed Priests, Prophets and Kings. We all are called to proclaim the Good News of God’s love to a world that needs it so badly. We are all called to share the Good News by the way that we live our lives in our families, our work places, our neighborhoods, everywhere that we go. May we all take some time this week to deepen our relationship with our Lord Jesus and then dare to proclaim His message to all the world. One of the ways that the Church does this is through the formation of our consciences. During this election season, the United States Bishops have written a series of bulletin inserts helping us to form our collective consciences. I began making them available last weekend and will continue to do so until the election. These hand outs help us to be aware of Catholic Teaching and how it affects the way we vote. It is my hope that these are helpful as you prepare to vote next month. HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!! Father Jim
