In this weekend’s Gospel, we are told about the power of the widow’s donation. As all the people were putting in their sizeable donations, Jesus notices that the widow is putting a few copper coins into the temple collection. Jesus notices and praises the widow’s dona-tion, for she has put in her entire life savings, all that she had to live on. In other words, she was “all in” as she was donating to the temple. It challenges all of us to look at whether we are “all in” in our relationship with God and His Church or are we holding back. Are we sometimes giving only a portion of our resources that we feel comfortable with or are we trying to build up silos in our own lives. May we take some time this week to prayerfully examine what we return to the Lord each week and may we always generously share the many gifts that He has entrusted to us! HAVE A GREAT WEEK! Fr. Jim
