This Sunday we celebrate the Second Sunday of Advent.

This Sunday is always a special day the Diocese in the Syracuse because we will celebrate the Immaculata Awards for members of our diocese. Each parish is encouraged to submit the names of a volunteer who they would like to honor. This year our parish will be honoring Michael and Robin Nickerson. Robin and “Mick” joined St. Andrew Parish in 1993.

They started early on volunteering where and when they could, from helping to decorate at Christmas and Easter, to Robin teaching 5th grade Faith Formation. When their children became altar servers, Robin continued to help out by training the up and coming new altar servers and they becoming involved with the Human Development Program. Since 2015, Mick and Robin have overseen the STJA Thanksgiving
Basket Project which has grown bigger each year and requires several months of planning and organizing. Additionally, two years ago they started cleaning the Sacristy and the Sanctuary. We are grateful for their dedication and we are blessed to congratulate them as they receive the Immaculata Award from Bishop Lucia this Sunday at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

Monday is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is a Holy Day of Obligation as we honor Mary as the Patroness of our Diocese and Nation under this title. We will have Mass at Saints John and Andrew at 6:30 AM and at 5:15 PM. Attending Mass is a great way to honor Mary on her special day.

HAVE A GREAT WEEK!
