This weekend is special to our parish. Bishop Lucia will be at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Parish to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation with our young people. This is indeed a special day for our young people, their families and our parish. Today is the day that these teenagers will complete their sacraments of initiation and become full members of our parish family. Today is the day that our youth will have that personal encounter with our Lord Jesus in this sacrament. Today is the day that our young people will be “sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit”. Let us keep them in our prayers as they celebrate
this special day.

This weekend’s Gospel tells us about the woman who was caught in the very act of adultery. The scribes and Pharisees brought her to Jesus to see what He would do to her. Jesus then says “that the one without sin should be the first to cast the stone at her”. They all walked away and left her alone with Jesus.

Jesus then forgives her and tells her to avoid sin. Our Lord offers us the gift of His forgiveness. He waits for us to come to Him and to seek his mercy and forgiveness. Next Monday, April 14, the Diocese of Syracuse will be participating in “The Light is on for you”. Monsignor Meagher and I will be in the
confessionals from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm waiting to celebrate God’s forgiveness with the people of our parish. Make your plans now to experience God’s mercy and forgiveness during this special time.

HAVE A GREAT WEEK!
