As we begin our Lenten Journey this Sunday, we travel with our Lord Jesus into the desert. This is a challenging place to begin. It is very lonely in the desert and there are not a lot of distractions. As we begin our desert experience, we recall the need that we have for God in our lives and seek to become
aware of His ever-abiding presence. Too many times the events and busyness of our lives keep us from recognizing God’s presence. Let us begin our Lenten Journey this week by choosing to enter into some desert spaces in our lives to be with the presence of our Loving God.
Next weekend, Deacon Steven James Meyer will be with us to begin our Parish Mission. Please mark your calendars now to attend the Parish Mission at Saints John and Andrew Church beginning next weekend and continuing on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. This promises to be a grace-filled time for our parishes and I am confident that the Lord will bless our parishes as we participate in this sacred time. Make your plans now to attend the Parish Mission on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings next week beginning at 7 pm each evening.
Please remember to fill out the parish survey during this Lenten Season. These surveys will help us to identify the strengths of our parish family and to recognize some areas that we need to grow in. This information will be valuable to us and to the diocese in our future Pastoral Planning Process.
HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!!
