At last, we are into the final days of our Advent journey. We are making the preparations for the Feast of Christmas. These last days before Christmas are an extremely busy time for us. Our model for this Fourth Sunday of Advent is the Blessed Virgin Mary. Mary goes and visits her cousin Elizabeth after being visited by the angel and being told that She would be the Mother of our Savior. Mary shows us that true discipleship involves service to others. It means that at times we have to go out of our way for others. May we take some time over the
next few days as we prepare for Christmas to reflect upon the love that God shows us in sending us our Savior. This Tuesday evening is Christmas Eve. We will have our Vigil Masses here at Sts John and Andrew Parish at 4:00 and at 6:30 PM. We will have Mass at 10:00 on Christmas Eve. We will have Mass on Christmas Day at 8:30 AM. Please make your plans now to attend Mass for Christmas. May you choose to gather with our parish family as we celebrate the presence of Emmanuel, God with us. Merry Christmas!
Father Jim.
