On this Second Sunday of Lent, we journey with the Lord Jesus to Mt. Tabor. It is here that the Lord is transfigured before His disciples Peter, James and John. The transfiguration occurred to strengthen the disciples for the scandal of the passion and cross. Our Lord Jesus strengthens us also for the challenges that we face in our faith journeys. He strengthens us through the Eucharist, through prayer, and through His People, the Church. Let us thank the Lord this day for the many ways that He prepares us for the challenges that we face along the journey.
Our parishes will be participating in the Diocesan-wide listening sessions. St. Vincent de Paul will host a Listening Session on Monday, March 9. Sts John and Andrew will host a Listening Session on Tuesday, March 10. Both sessions will take place at 6:00 pm in the church hall. Please make every effort to attend the session for your parish so you can share your thoughts, ideas and insights. I look forward to
hearing what everyone has to say.
This Easter, we will have our outdoor sunrise Mass at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament church at 6:00 am. This popular mass is a wonderful way to celebrate the Lord’s resurrection and a magnificent way to begin this feast. Make your plans now to attend this beautiful liturgy. Please bring your folding chairs and remember to dress warmly for this special Mass.
HAVE A GREAT WEEK!
