In this weekend’s Gospel, we see our Lord Jesus praying to the Father on the evening of the Last Supper.

We see Him praying for us and for His Church. We see our Lord asking that His love may dwell in us. Jesus is asking the Father to protect His People and His Church.

What a great gift this is for us! How comforting it is for us to know that our Lord Jesus was praying for us on the night before He died. He was praying that His love may dwell in us and for the gift of unity. We are all called to work for unity. In the midst of a fractured world, we are called to build bridges. Pope Leo has made it a priority to work to build bridges and to work for unity in the Church and in the world. May this prayer of Jesus become a reality in our time!

This next weekend is special for our Diocese. Deacon Joseph Ryan, from St. Patrick’s Parish in Binghamton and Deacon John Brussa, from Holy Family Parish in Syracuse will be ordained priests on June 7, 2025. May we keep both Fr. Joseph and Fr. John in our prayers as they begin their priestly ministry in the Church.

HAVE A GREAT WEEK!
Fr. Jim
