In this weekend’s Readings from Scripture, we hear about the theme of Call. We hear how Isaiah was called by God and how Simon Peter was called by our Lord Jesus. Both of these calls were not because of merit or because of anything that the person had done, but was because of God’s choice.

Each one of us is called by our God. We all respond to the Baptismal call that we receive in our lives. We respond by our presence at Mass this weekend. Our Lord wants us to answer His call in a deeper way. He wants us to respond to His call by living out a deep relationship with Him. We do this through prayer and by our Mass attendance.

He also invites us to acknowledge His call by the way that we live our lives. Our Lord Jesus wants to influence the decisions we make in our daily lives. He wants us to be bearers of the Good News and to reach out in His name to the poor, needy, marginalized and lowly members of society.
As many of us will be wearing the jersey or colors of our favorite team on this Super Bowl Sunday, let us always wear our love for the Lord Jesus as we strive to love those around us.

HAVE A GREAT WEEK!
