Our annual Thanksgiving Dinner Basket Drive was a success! We met our goal of 129 recipients with your donations. Whether it was a bag full of groceries, or a monetary donation, your time volunteering makes all the difference. The Sts. John and Andrew Church originally committed to 120 recipients. Sign-ups through Catholic Charities hit an all-time high this year with over 3000. Sts. John and Andrew took on an additional 9 recipients to meet our commitment. Thank you, St. John students, parents, and teachers. Our donations provided a meal to 358 adults and 192 children totaling 550 people. This year our largest number of meals was provided. Our Confirmation students were a huge help. I want to thank 9th-grade students Collin, Adam, Danny, Jackson, Morah, Olivia, and McKenna; 10th-grade students Chase (who volunteered 2 days!) Kaden, Bryce, Coleson, and Carson. 6th graders along with Lorie Blakesley and members of her class. My adult volunteers were Dave, Mary, Cindy, Cathy, Becky, Madonna, Toni, Anthony, Vinny, Emily, Elliott, and Mick. A few of my regular volunteers fell ill and I had new volunteers step up which was welcomed by all. Our food pantry coordinator Carol was essential in coordinating our donation of frozen turkeys. I could not undertake this project without all the aforementioned help. Thank you to Weis Markets, Pennsylvania Ave., store for donating paper bags. Carol and Mary of the Parish office are just great through all this! They field calls and keep me informed of returned mail and questions Thank you to Bud for all your help. The parishioners of Sts. John and Andrew once again came together to make Thanksgiving special for many families this year. Thank you! Robin Nickerson
